brew ("we", "our", "us") is a dating app focused on meaningful connections. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our services.
We collect the following types of information: • Account data: name, phone number, date of birth, and email • Profile data: gender, interests, lifestyle choices, and prompts you add • Location data: approximate location (suburb/city level) used only for proximity-based matching — we do not track your real-time location and you can adjust your match distance range at any time • Usage data: app usage patterns, match activity, and analytics events • Diagnostic data: crash reports, error logs, and technical device information (device model, operating system version, available memory, and app version) recorded when the app crashes or encounters a fault • Message content: the text messages you send to your matches • Photos: profile photos you upload (kept private until photo reveal conditions are met)
We use your data to: • Create and manage your brew account • Match you with compatible users based on your preferences and location • Enable anonymous chat and the photo-reveal feature • Moderate content and enforce our community guidelines — messages and activity may be reviewed by our team to detect violations, harassment, or illegal behaviour • Diagnose crashes and technical faults, and improve the stability of the app • Improve our algorithms and user experience • Send you important service notifications • Comply with legal obligations
We use the following trusted third-party services which process data on our behalf: • Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database, cloud storage, and cloud functions. Your data is stored on Google's servers located in the United States. By using brew, you consent to this transfer. Google acts as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement. • Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymised app usage and screen view analytics • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — crash reports and diagnostic data, used only to identify and fix technical faults in the app These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them at firebase.google.com and policies.google.com.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account: • Your profile is immediately stripped of all personal data (name, photo, date of birth, email, location) • Your match and message history is permanently and irreversibly deleted within 30 days of account deletion • This deletion also removes the shared chat history from your former match partners' view We do not offer the ability to restore an account or its data after the 30-day window has passed.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you • Correct inaccurate data • Request deletion of your data • Object to or restrict processing of your data • Data portability To exercise any of these rights, use the Send Feedback option in the app's Settings page.
brew is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and associated data. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of any sale of your personal information. brew does not sell your personal data to third parties. To exercise your California privacy rights, use the Send Feedback option in the app's Settings page.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or Turkey, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: • Contract: to provide you with the brew service • Legitimate interest: to moderate content, prevent abuse, and maintain platform safety • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws You may withdraw consent or object to processing at any time by using the Send Feedback option in Settings or by deleting your account.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of brew after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
